Why, hello there.

Hi. I’ve started a blog. I hope you like it.

Why did I start boots and cats, you ask? Well, many professionals and creative people have blogs to share their skills and wisdom of life they have learned over their many years of creating things and making the world a more beautiful place.

I’m not one of those people. Yet.

I am the person reading those blogs wishing I could be one of those people.  Dreaming of having the ability to decorate an entire red-carpet event using nothing but kleenex boxes and twine and have it be the most beautiful interesting thing anyone has ever seen! So talented. So creative. How do they do it?

I used to be quite discouraged I would never be like them. I would make excuses, lamenting my lack of skills in design, or photography or general creativity and imagination. But I realized, the more I did nothing, the more nothing was accomplished, the more those skills weren’t getting built. So here I am. Today is the day I start doing things. Trying things. Whether it be new things, or growing in old things. I hope I can learn something along the way, and maybe inspire a few people to start doing things too.

Now, that’s not to say I haven’t ANY skills.

I graduated with a degree in clothing and textiles, and have the ability to sew. I also enjoy the illustration aspect of fashion, and I am especially enamored with fabrics and their prints, dyes, textures and graphics.

I love vintage clothing and influences of different eras. I also like having the ability to alter vintage clothing to fit.

I enjoy photography as a hobby, as well as scrapbooking.

I like glitter and washi tape, and any project that includes both.

Basically I have the soul of a tinkerer, trying to start making my life as beautiful as I can.

I also like cats. I’m sure you’ll see them appear on here a time or two….

I hope you’ll join my on my journey. I can’t wait to see where it goes.
